Our 1974 Volvo 144 died yesterday. It was a sudden and painless death by snapped axle. You can see the axle resting on the ground.

It was a quick demise and the car was unable to move. Thankfully we were not on the highway when it happened – though we were on the ramp TO the highway.

So we laid our old blue “limo” to rest. In the scrapyard. Sad since we had it only a month. But for $500 what could more could we expect?
Now we’re piling the kids onto a little 125cc motorcycle to get to school. Much more reliable I would guess since bikes don’t have axles to break, right? It’s time to begin the hunt for a real car.
Hello! We are the Brays. And we love Muslims.
oh my goodness, friends, I am so sorry. I hate it that your $500 beast only lasted one month! It could have at least made it 2 or 3! I hope you find a better beast soon…:) I saw your list of things still need for your home. Man we been there. I will pray that God sends all you need. Hey when we were in Thailand after 4 months of having very little furniture we found an entire apt full of nice furniture from a moving expat – the whole kit for $300. May God send you a moving generous expat!
I meant when we were in Taiwan. Easy spelling switch.
Hmmm. Sounds like you’re a little geographically challenged there. ;-)
Actually, before we first moved to Thailand in 2006 several friends asked how long it’d take for us to get to Taiwan. So you’re not the first one to get them confused.
Heck, I bet half the foreigners living in Thailand actually meant to move to Taiwan, but got lost on the way.
So have you gotten a new mobile yet?
